Easy Crock Pot Vegetable Beef Soup Recipe + Wine Pairing

Image
We have a new website  March is the beginning of Spring and in many parts of the country it's still cold and rainy. We know families are looking for hearty, warm and easy meal ideas. Ya Ya's Vegetable Beef Soup definitely checks all the boxes.    Beef soup also reminds us of St. Patrick's Day. Besides Shepherd's Pie and Corn Beef, our grandma would make the best vegetable beef soup. We would love to come over our grandma's house in the spring time and eat a bowl of soup. Grandma doesn't cook much lately but we sure wish she would make us some of her soup!! She always used okra in her recipe. Vegetable beef soup is very versatile and pairs well with several wines.  We selected 3 wines for different palates. 1. Jack Canyon Malbec - This full bodied, earthy, big fruit wine pairs well with beef. Jack Canyon comes out of the state of Washington and we enjoy the red berry joined with black fruit. You can also add the Malbec in the soup for a richer flavor . Shop...

Mulled White Wine Recipe - Tea Party Inspired

Image
Throughout the ages, mulled wine was associated with good health, happiness, and of course warmth! Today we celebrate "National Mulled Wine Day" on March 3rd. Since winter is still lingering, a spicy, fruity mulled wine will warm you up. When making this cozy cocktail, the home was filled with aromas of cinnamon, anise, ginger, and cloves. A relaxing sipper to enjoy when you want to unwind, sit by a fire, or binge watching your favorite show in comfy pajamas. The recipe is super simple... and was inspired by one of our favorite Netflix series, Bridgerton. The High Society are always sipping tea in fancy tea cups, so we headed to our local Goodwill and found a vintage tea set. Throw an afternoon tea party and serve the mulled wine with scones, macarons, and cucumber sandwiches. Pinkies up!   We have a new website   It's Duchess Niambi from Bridgerton - We have too much fun using the Reface App     Here's what you need: 1 orange 1 piece of fresh ginger 5 who...

Pinot Grigio Wine Pairing - Lobster Bisque Recipe

Image
February 4th is National Soup Day and since all 3 sisters love soup, we had to whip up a great soup for our readers! We took a poll on Facebook and asked for suggestions. We received excellent suggestions, from white chicken chili, wedding soup, Thai coconut soup, mushroom soup, french onion, and potato soup. The top requested soup was lobster bisque. We've all ordered lobster bisque at restaurants and it's always so expensive with not enough lobster!! We've never made it at home, so we researched some recipes and  added our own touch. The soup turned out excellent! We now understand why it's a more pricier soup... it takes some time! There still was not enough lobster to go around for all the bisque we made. For a less expensive option, we suggest add grilled chicken or shrimp to the leftover bisque for the next day! We paired our lobster bisque with a Bella Mente  2019 Pinot Grigio from Traveling Vineyard. The Pinot is vibrant, lively and light and allows the flav...

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

Image
Today we went live on Facebook, 2 sisters in St. Louis and 1 sister in California, and we made red wine hot chocolate. We grabbed the recipe from Traveling Vineyard and we wanted to taste test. Niambi in California followed the recipe exactly and Ayanna & Aisha used a variation. Ayanna and Aisha didn't have the heavy cream on hand, so they used sweet condensed milk. We learned that the sweet condensed milk made the hot chocolate thicker and very sweet. We suggest you follow the exact recipe but you can use any dry red wine. Niambi used Rayado Cabernet Sauvignon and Ayanna and Aisha used Bailando Superior Malbec. To watch the live video, go to our Facebook Page.  Get the Adult Decision Sweatshirt in time for Christmas SHOP NOW    We hope you enjoy the recipe!  If you make it, please tag us in your photo on Instagram , Facebook, or Twitter - @3ladiesonavine    Check out our NEW WEBSITE! -we will eventually be moving the blog over to the new site!

As we were deciding on what cookie to make for the blog we reached out to our husbands! They agreed we should make a white chocolate chip cookie with the red and green M&Ms. It sounded divine so we created a soft and chewy cookie that is AHHHmazzzing!  We paired the cookies with Traveling Vineyard's Luxx Merlot . Red Blend Pairing - Turkey Chili Recipe

Image
Chili is the perfect dish to warm you up for a crisp fall night. It's hearty, versatile, and easy to make. There are so many variations of chili, from vegan, vegetarian, white chili, stew chili, no beans, with beans, spicy, and mild. We decided to make a turkey chili with kidney beans. We paired it with 19 Crimes Cali Red. The wine is very popular because it features Snoop Dogg but it is actually a really tasty Petite Sirah/Zinfandel Blend. The wine is a full-bodied wine with deep colors and high tannins. Petite refers to the size of the berries, which are small with a high skin-to-juice ratio. The wine pairs well with barbecued meats, roasted pork, and spicy and meat chili. The 19 Crimes Cali Red has strong notes of black and blue fruits. We enjoyed it because it wasn't overly dry and had a hint of sweetness at the finish. Prior to drinking, we aerated our wine with our Magic Decanter Aerator.   Perfect aeration can be achieved in the time it takes to pour a glass. ALL THE ...

Icy Pinot Vodka Spritzer - Blue Ice Vodka

Image
We discovered Blue Ice Vodka this year on Instagram and instantly wanted to sip. We've never tasted a potato vodka before and were so intrigued. From the first sip we were hooked. The potato vodka comes from potato country, Idaho. Distilled five times for extreme clarification, it's very clean and can be enjoyed straight, on the rocks, and mixes well in cocktails. Check out their websites for low calories cocktails. Blue Ice Vodka's goal is to create cocktails 100 calories or under. https://www.blueicevodka.com We created a light and refreshing cocktail combining Pinot Noir & Blue Ice Vodka. * Note* We are not nutritionist, so we cannot guarantee that this cocktail is 100 calories or less. We tried our best to keep it as low cal as possible. This cocktail is subtle and not strong. *Icy Pinot Vodka Spritzer Fill a tall (12-16 oz) glass about 3/4 full  Next add 1/2 part simple syrup into your glass *(simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water. Pinot Noir Pairing - Vegan Portobello Fried Mushrooms

Image
Pinot Noir, the romanticized red wine! The grape is delicate and hard to grow, wine lovers become obsessed with finding the perfect Pinot.  Pinot Noir originated in the Burgundy region of France, which still produces great Pinot! The Burgundy Pinot can be pricey but other regions, like California, Oregon, and New Zealand have succeeded in creating excellent Pinots! Pinot Noir is very versatile and pairs well with many dishes, one in particular is mushrooms. We prepared vegan fried portobello mushrooms with a cucumber, tomato, and shallot salad. It paired beautifully with a 2013 Kendric Vineyards Pinot Noir from Marin County, CA. The Pinot was incredibly smooth and bursting with notes of cherries and bright acidity. 13.5% ABV. It was hard to put down, it was so delicious! We enjoyed our Pinot chilled. Serve Pinot at 55 degrees. Fried Mushrooms    Ingredients 6 Large mushrooms (we used portobello) Flour Almond Milk Onion Powder Garlic Powder Salt & Pepper Paprika...
