What's in Your Pineapple? - Chardonnay Colada Recipe


Last week was all about Chardonnay... the world's most popular white wine! 

Here are some quick Chardonnay Facts!
* Chardonnay is a green skinned grape.
* Chardonnay wine is pale to deep yellow.
* Chardonnay can grow in many climates.
* Grapes grown in cooler climates produce Chardonnay with more acidity, lighter bodies, and taste aromas of Citrus, apple, mineral, and pear.
* Grapes grown in warmer climates produce Chardonnay with less acidity, more opulent, and taste aromas of ripe fruits, such as pineapple, peach, and papaya.
* Chardonnay is a grape that is versatile and allows the winemakers to be creative.
* Winemakers can create a light & elegant or a full bodied and butter Chardonnay.
* Chardonnay can be Oaked or Unoaked
* Serve Chardonnay at 45-55 degrees. (Chill in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours or in an ice bath for 30-40 minutes). 
* If Chardonnay is too cold, flavors can be muted.
* Pairs well with mild, buttery, and creamier dishes, as well as seafood. Does not pair well with spicy dishes.

Chardonnay Colada Recipe 
 A Sippable Saturday Cocktail
 

The Chardonnay Colada is a variation of the Piña Colada but you replace the rum with Chardonnay!

 
Step 1 - Gut a pineapple until you are left with pineapple cup!
Step 2 - In a blender add 1 cup Chardonnay - 1 cup fresh pineapples - 1/2 cup cream of coconut - 2 cups ice
Step 3 Blend until smooth
Step 4 Pour in your pineapple

- We placed our in freezer for about an hour - we wanted it a thicker consistency but if you froze your pineapples you will get it a more smoothie consistency-
.
