I am sure everyone has sang this song more than 10 times in their lifetime! The song really puts you in the holiday spirit. You know what else puts you in the holiday spirit? Well wine of course! Get your shopping list ready, we hand selected 12 wines, starting from December 14th through December 25th, to help you wrap gifts, cook your holiday dinner, sing carols, and trim the tree.
1st Wine of Christmas - DEC. 14- It's a Thursday evening, ooh so close to the weekend, we are going to start you off with a wine that has the perfect name, Relax! We chose Relax Wine's Pink Rose. It has has aromas of strawberries, cherries, and raspberries. It will definitely help you unwind after a busy work day, while eating a spicy dinner dish and enjoying your favorite holiday movie before bed!
2nd Wine of Christmas - DEC. 15- TGIF! For the second wine of Christmas, we went with a White Merlot from Sutter Home. When you think of Merlot, your first mind goes to dry but this is the exact opposite. Sutter Home's White Merlot is fruity with notes of cherry and raspberries. It goes perfect with bar-be-que and seafood. It's time to crank up the holiday jams and dance around the house on Thursday evening!
3rd Wine of Christmas - DEC. 16- Perfect Saturday! For the third wine of Christmas we actually chose two Sangrias because it was too hard to choose! We selected the traditional Spanish recipe with Beso Del Sol Sangria. It is 100% natural juices and imported from Spain. It's very light, smooth and refreshing. It also comes in a white sangria. There is also Eppa Sangria, Which is bold and flavorful. You can really taste the blood orange and pomegranate. Put on a ugly sweater, invite some friends, cut up some fruit, pour over ice, and let's party.
4th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 17- For the fourth wine of Christmas we chose GalloSweet Pineapple Wine. It tastes like a tropical vacation in a bottle. This wine is so light and refreshing with a slight fizz. Enjoy this after your long shopping day in the busy shopping mall with crazy parking.
5th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 18- On the fifth day of Christmas, 3 Ladies on a Vine gave to me, The Great American Wine Company 2012 Red Blend! DREADED MONDAY! Put the kids to bed and relax or have a sip at dinner! It has notes of dark cherry and vanilla and it's made in the U.S.A.! It is very rich and velvety to get you cozy by the fire.
6th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 19- It's only Tuesday, but cheer up, we chose a Vouvray V Grande Reserve. Coming from the Chenin Blanc varietal and and the Vouvray Lorie, France region, this wine has aromas of stone fruit and peach blossoms. Just sit back, relax, kick up your feet and make a list of anybody else you need to buy gifts for.
7th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 20- What really happens on a Wednesday? It's hump day, of course! For the seventh wine of Christmas we chose a nice Chardonnay by Wente , because we wanted to make Wednesday extra special for you. This oaky wine with notes of vanilla and green apple will have you kissing under the mistletoe!
8th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 21- It's the first day of winter. Yeah for some and blah for others. I guess it depends where you live. In St. Louis, it is cold but winter can be very beautiful. For the eighth wine of Christmas we chose Blufeld's Sweet Riesling. The pretty blue bottle just reminded us of winter. This crisp and refreshing German wine has aromas of citrus, peach and floral notes. It's a nice change if you are already a riesling lover, it's sweeter than your normal riesling but not overly sweet!
9th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 22- For the ninth wine of Christmas we chose a Beaujolais Nouveau by Jean Claude Debeaune. Bursting with fresh berry notes, this drier wine goes well with holiday parties and dinners. Since this is the Friday before Christmas, you may be throwing a holiday after work happy hour. This wine pairs well with appetizers! Sip and savor!
10th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 23 - We are super close to Christmas and it's Saturday again!! Whoo hoo! For the tenth wine of Christmas we went with Washington Hill's Paradise Peak Riesling from the state of Washington. This sweet white wine, with orange, peach and lavender notes. would be excellent for an intimate date night or after you send the kids to bed to sneak and wrap the rest of their gifts!
11th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 24 - The smell of cookies and pies coming from the oven and all the family is around to make new Christmas memories. It's Christmas Eve and for the eleventh wine of Christmas we chose Boenker Hill's NortonDessert Wine! This is a sherry port wine and it is strong but very tasty. A dessert wine would pair wonderfully with all the cookies for Santa you will be eating. Boenker Hills is a local winery in Missouri, so if you they do not sell it in your area, find something similar.
12th Wine of Christmas - DEC. 25- "Hang all the mistletoe, I'm going to get to know you better, This Christmas!" It is the day we have all been waiting for. The magical, make you feel like a kid again, Christmas Day! For the twelfth wine of Christmas we chose a semi-sweet Liebraumilch Rheinhessen German wine. The bottle has a woman holding a little boy, which reminded us of Mary and Jesus. This wine is fresh and fruit, with a soft fragrant aroma and pairs well with poultry, seafood and salad.
