Hot Mulled Wine (Vin Chaud)

Hot mulled wine recipe made with red wine and spices
The weather outside is frightful but the Vin Chaud is so delightful, and since there is no place to go, grab a cup and sip it up! What is Vin Chaud? It is an alcoholic beverage, from the European origin, made mostly with red wine, spices and served warm. Our international correspondent, recently visited Paris and strolled down the Christmas market, sipping on Vin Chaud. The market extends from the roundabout of the Champs-Elysees to the Place de la Concorde, with over 200 wooden chalets. This Christmas market offers a great variety of Christmas crafts and culinary specialties of the French regions. The Champs-Elysees is decorated with more than 400 lit Christmas trees, and Christmas decorations and illuminations.

The Parisian Christmas market is filled with holiday cheer. If you are not ready for Christmas, a trip to the Christmas Markets will ignite your holiday spirit. With a variety of enticements in each chalet, one can find small gifts, from hand painted ornaments, to the latest selfie gadgets. The foodie in you will not be disappointed either, with the amount of French cuisine and that of neighboring countries will delight your tastebuds. Probably the most quintessence item required for a stroll through the Christmas markets is the Vin Chaud or hot wine. The aromatic herbs that enhance the wine invite you to warm up and enjoy a glass in those crisp Parisian nights. The Vin Chaud comes in both Rouge and Blanc, both equally tasty. The vendors prepare the wine in large cauldrons with a number of fruits and spices. Besides the delicious flavor of the wine, the wonderful smell and heat will envelop all your senses. Overall a glass of Vin Chaud and a stroll through the Parisian Christmas Market will be a holiday moment to cherish! - International Correspondent - Porscha
